Abia State Government says it has concluded plans for the massive employment of Teachers across the state to fill the vacancy already existing in the school system.
Announcing the decision while jointly briefing Newsmen at the end of third week’s State Executive Council meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu and his basic Education counterpart, Elder Goodluck Ubochi said that Government is targeting the employment of about two thousand five hundred new Teachers in the first phase, adding that the mode of application would be made Public before the end of this week which would be on-line.
The Government also made public that it has introduced mathematics clinics for students in examination classes of JSS 3 and SS3 which will hold Tuesday and Thursday of every week between the hours of 7-7:45am to fully realize the STEM Policy of the present administration.
According to the Commissioners, the newly introduced initiative which is geared towards preparing students in examination classes would hold between 7-7:45am Tuesdays and Thursdays with an extension period of 2-4pm for those in Science classes.
Abia State Government further revealed that it will soon flag off the Abia Medical City project,a project designed to reverse Medical tourism to the state.
