Abia State Police command has four kidnapped victims and neutralized six members of the deadly kidnap gang at Osokwa in Osisioma Local Government Area of the State.
A release endorsed by the Command’s PPRO, Maureen Chinaka named the rescued victims to include: Onwuka Chimela, Onwuka Emeh Chinaza, Isreal Ikemsinachi Ukandu and Ibiam Kingsley, all male
According to the release, the Command received a report on the 9th of March that the victims, who were driving in their Toyota RAV4 along New Umuahia Road, Obingwa, were kidnapped by unknown armed men and leveraging on credible intelligence, Tactical team of the Command on the using technological means located the kidnappers’ hideout in Osokwa, Osisioma in Ngwa LGA, on the 14th of March, where the victims were held hostage for five days in a three-bedroom bungalow.
The release while stating that the four kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt, pointed out that they were immediately taken to the Police Hospital, for medical attention to the.
It further revealed that weapons and items recovered from the gang are: two AK-47 rifles, six magazines, and 34 rounds of live ammunition.
The release assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang who escaped with bullet injuries.

Meanwhile, Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has has directed the immediate demolition of the building used by the kidnappers in the victims at Osokwa in Osisioma LGA.
The Governor who addressed Journalists on the development after being briefed by the Police commissioner, CP Danladi Isa also directed the proper investigation of the Traditional Ruler of the community to ascertain why the victims were kept in the community without hindrances.
Dr Otti while commending the Police for a job well done, enjoined them not to relent in stamping out crimes and criminalities and restated his resolve to support the State Command in achieving this target.
Narrating their ordeals, the kidnapped victims thanked God, the State Government and the Police for coming to their rescue, revealing that they were kept for five days in their hideout without food.
