The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Wilfred Olutokunbo Afolabi, has directed that all operational gaps and combat-related needs for the prevention of violent crimes be urgently identified and forwarded to his office for prompt intervention.

Addressing the Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) Abia State Command on Wednesday (12/8/26), CP Afolabi announced a combat training exercise scheduled for the following week.
He assured that the Command would strengthen Operational capacity through targeted training aimed at improving operational effectiveness.
The CP further stressed the need to intensify intelligence gathering, stressing that all modern operations must be intelligence-driven to achieve optimal results.
CP Afolabi commended the officers for their critical role in sustaining peace and security within the State and, however, cautioned against complacency, to prevent criminal elements from regrouping.
According to him, the officers must remain proactive, alert, and unwavering in their efforts to ensure safety of the State.
He used the forum to reiterate the importance of discipline, while urging them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, respect for human rights, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
