The All Progressives Congress (APC), Abia State chapter, says the reported suspension of two of its officials—Chief Chidi Avajah, the State Secretary, and Hon. Sylvester Chibuike Onyekwere, PhD, the Acting Ward Chairman of Ahia-Ukwu Ward 2, Umuahia South LGA is null, void, and of no effect.
The State Party Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, who made the declartion in a release states that the suspension, reportedly carried out by a group within Ahia-Ukwu Ward 2, contravenes Section 31, Subsection 5(iii) of the APC Constitution.
Dr. Ononogbu therefore made it clear that all disciplinary procedures must follow due process as outlined by the party’s guiding document.
To forestall such acts, he however, revealed that the State Working Committee will summon all relevant parties involved to ensure a fair hearing.
