The Abia State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), , will on Thursday, October 15, 2026, hold an emergency congress.
A release jointly endorsed by signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Chidi Asonye, and Secretary, Comrade Iyke Onuegbu, say the Congress will deliberate on crucial issues affecting the union.
According to the release, the venue of the meeting is at the NUJ Press Centre, No. 66 Aba Road, Umuahia, while time is 2pm.
To this end the release, called on members, including veterans of the union, to attend the congress in large numbers.
It further pointed out that Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukaegbu, Abia State Commissioner for Transport, and Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process, are the special guests at the congress.
