In a release, Chief Nwobodo noted that the life and career of Jim Nwobodo offer valuable lessons for current Nigerian politicians on how to strengthen democracy and guard against military intervention.

He recalled that as a former Governor of old Anambra State that experienced the 1983 coup firsthand, his experience could serve as a blueprint for sustaining and strengthening democracy in Nigeria.

The Ex-International Boxer described Chief Nwobodo’s contribution, particularly the establishment of education with ESUT and his attainments with Enugu Rangers as examples of what focused, developmental leadership at the state level can achieve in a short time.

In another development , Mazi Okoronkwo has reacted to the decision by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to zone its presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria for a single four-year term, effective from the 2027 general elections.

Baring his mind, the Democracy activist cautioned opposition parties against proposing arrangements that conflict with the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended.

He therefore challenged parties to focus on presenting clear policy alternatives on governance rather than engaging in actions that could result in constitutional disputes.
