Genuine stakeholders and patriots in Ohuhu, Ibeku, Umuahia North, Umuahia South and Ikwuano have roundly condemned the ostrich disposition of a few disgruntled and self centered Ohuhu leaders who are claiming that the foremost contender for the office of President General, Ohuhu Welfare Union, World Wide, Comrade Sir Lucky Akabuike is pro lbeku.
Condemning the selfish postulations as pot calling kettle black, the immediate Past President General of Okaiuga Nkwoegwu Improvement Union ( ONIU), and Traditional Prime Minister (TPM), Egwunaeleke Okaiuga Nkwoegwu Autonomous Community, Comrade Sir Uzomba Ekwuribe, contended that most, if not all Ohuhu sons and daughters that occupied one elevated position or the other, particularly, from 1999, benefited from the political benevolence, sagacity and cameraderie of Ndi Ibeku particularly from a former Governor, Senator T. A.Orji (Ochendo).
In the words of Sir Uzomba Ekwuribe, former two terms State Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ):
“Ochendo used his exalted positions either as Administrative Secretary of NECON, as it was called before 1999, Chief of Staff to Governor Orji Uzor Kalu, Governor and Distinguished Senator, Abia Central, to appoint and elevate many Ohuhu, Umuahia North, Umuahia South and Ikwuano sons and daughters and even beyond.
“It is unfortunate that most of the beneficiaries, particularly, those from Ohuhu, refused to use their sensitive positions to upload their brothers and sisters because they want to be the Kings that must stand.
” The claim of these discredited selfish leaders is not only blackmail and smear campaign but also betrays their fear and lack of confidence as 2027 approaches”.
Sir Ekwuribe noted that the smear campaigners have failed in their enterprise because Comrade Sir Lucky Akabuike, during the Manifesto presentation discharged and acquitted himself to the admiration of Ndi Ohuhu.
“It is on record that the former Mayor of Umuahia North, international labour Leader, Comrade Akabuike used the opportunity offered by the Ohuhu Decide Manifesto to expose the reasons behind the smear campaign while admitting the need for Ndi Ohuhu to cooperate with Ndi Ibeku for the purposes of peace, unity and development of Umuahia North and Ikwuano -Umuahia Federal Constituency which he described as a tripod that must be strong and united to carry the weight of development”.
The former NUJ Scribe Ekwuribe therefore challenged any Leader from Ohuhu who was not working for the T.A.Orji administration in the hay days and years of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He further used the opportunity to urge the delegates to ignore the antics of the few disgruntled who have lost face and favour to vote for Comrade Sir Lucky Akabuike who comes from the Egwu Ukwu Autonomous Community where the Office of President General of Ohuhu Welfare Union, World Wide, has been zoned to in tandem with equity and fairness.
He, however, commended the patriotism and dedication of the Electoral Committee ably led by an erudite Lawyer, Elder Hez Nwokocha and charged the Ohuhu clan to unite and fight against impunity, dictatorship and tyranny which are gradually raising their ugly heads in Ohuhu politics and dynamics before they spiral out of control.
