Hon Ogah Flags Off ‘Operation Let There Be Light’

The stretch between Ihube Junction and Abia State University Junction along the Okigwe – Uturu – Afikoo Federal road will soon wear a new night look as the Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, on Thursday, 5th March 2026, flagged off the installation of solar-powered street lights within the area.

Flagging off the project, Hon. Ogah explained that the project became necessary following security concerns and frequent accidents recorded along the axis, which have become dangerous for motorists, students, and residents of the area.

The National Assembly Member noted with concern that many lives have been lost along the road due to poor visibility at night and security challenges.

He pointed out that the installation of solar street lights will significantly improve visibility, enhance security, and protect road users and residents.

Hon. Ogah who declared the initiative as “Operation Let There Be Light,” made it clear that the safety and well-being of the people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency remain his top priority.

He observed that the project will not only illuminate the road corridor leading to Abia State University but will also support commercial activities, improve night-time movement, and provide relief to students and residents who ply the road daily.

The federal lawmaker reassured the people of his continued commitment to delivering impactful projects that will improve infrastructure, safety, and development across the constituency.

In their reactions, Community members and Road users thanked Hon. Ogah for responding to the long-standing challenge and taking proactive steps to address the issue.
