Following the declaration of results of the Local Government elections in Rivers State by the Rivers State Independent Nationa Electoral Commission, the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has sworn in the newly elected chairmen of the 23 local government areas.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony this Sunday at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, that witnessed 22 chairmen from the Action Peoples Party (APP) and one from the Action Alliance officially inaugurated into office, Governor Fubara, congratulated them on their electoral victories.
He enjoined them to focus on fulfilling their campaign promises and improving the welfare of their local communities.
The event which settles the undue manipulations to stop the emergence of elected officials at the third tier of government attracted the presence of notable dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
