2027: Group throws weight behind Gov Otti, Chimaobi Ebisike

As the 2027 general elections draw nearer, a coalition youth group, Royal Youth Initiative have declared firm support for the administration of Dr Alex Otti, and the ambition of former lawmaker, Chief Chimaobi Ebisike for Aba north and South Federal Constituency seat.

The Group, a coalition of young people drawn from over 50 religious denominations and founded in 2017 made its position known during a World Press Conference held in Aba.

In a statement jointly endorsed by its President, Comrade Samuel Amaechi and Eugene Ugboaja, the Royal youth Initiative pledged loyalty to the State Governor and reaffirmed its commitment to mobilising grassroot support for ongoing development efforts.

According to the group, the administration of Governor Otti has recorded notable progress across critical sectors including education, health care, road infrastructure and security as well as regular paymeny of salaries and pensions and ongoing urban renewal initiatives such as improved sanitation.

While expressing support for the current administration, the Royal youth Initiative raised concerns about representation in Aba Federal Constituency and stressed the need for a change.

It called for stronger alignment between elected representatives and the local needs of constituents stressing that effective representation requires clear understanding of the areas priorities.

The Group explained that its backing of Chief Chimaobi Ebisike was informed by his previous experience as former member for Aba north and South federal Constituency and what they described as visible Constituency interventions during his short stay in the Green chamber.

The Royal youth initiative pointed out that such familiarity with the area as a son of the soil would enhance legislative representation and community development.
