Screening for the State Final of 8th Edition of the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly grass Boxing Talent Hunt exercise is in progress at the Enugu Sports Council.
Speaking with Hanto Daily News, the coordinator of the exercise and Ex- international Boxer, Mazi Ikechukwu Okoronkwo reiterated their determination to ensure the success of the programme.
He assured that more talents will be discovered at the tournament and thanked the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Uche C. Ugwu for his interest in the development of Sports and Youths.
Mazi Okoronkwo therefore called on local Government Councils to support the Speaker in achieving the desired goals, pointing out that the empowerment of Youths in their Areas would help in reducing crimes and criminalities.
Among the boxers that have arrived Enugu for the event are Okah John from Oji-river LGA, Ugwuanyi Jude from Udenu LGA, Amirah Agbo Esther from Nsukka LGA, Chisom Ani Nkanu West LGA Shedrack Ozoemena from Enugu East LGA, Ameh Mathias from Uzo- uwani LGA to mention but a few.
