Multiple winner of football trophies, Cristiano Ronaldo is to stay with his current Saudi Pro League club, Al-Nassr, till 2027.
This followed the signing of a new two-year contract with Al-Nassr by the 40 year old Portugal captain, who joined the team in December 2022 after leaving Manchester United in acrimonious circumstances, after criticising the club and saying he had “no respect” for the then manager, Erik ten Hag.
The current deal of the five time Balon d’Or winner was to expire at the end of June and there were speculations regarding his next destination before now as he said about a month ago, on social media “the chapter is over”.
Ronaldo in a post on X wrote: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”
Ronaldo who has not secured any trophy for Riyad based side has been prolific scoring 99 times in 111 matches across all competitions and has been the league’s top scorer for a second consecutive season.
