There are indications that the ongoing reconstruction work at the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex will soon be realized as Monier Construction Company, the main contractor handling the structural work has completed the principal building.

According to Hanto Daily News findings, landscaping and external finishing touches are currently being undertaken by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, while interior furnishing and fittings are in their final stages.
The project initiated in 2024 by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, was conceived to remodel the Assembly Complex following concerns over its dilapidated condition and compromised structural integrity and to provide a modern, safe and functional legislative environment befitting the status of Rivers State.

According to Government sources, when completed, the ultra-modern complex is expected to redefine the Moscow Road axis of Port Harcourt, standing as a prominent architectural landmark and providing improved office spaces, chambers and support infrastructure to enhance legislative efficiency and institutional stability.

Moreover, the source noted, the new complex specially underscores Governor Fubara’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions and prioritising infrastructural renewal across the state.
