A former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Planning in Abia State, Dr Philips Nto has commended the Deputy Speaker of of House of Representatives, Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu for attracting the post of South East Zonal Youth Leader of All Progressive Congress ( APC) to the state.
Dr Nto in a release noted that by attracting the top post and nominating a vibrant and resourceful lawyer, Barr Chima Ogbonnaya to occupy it, Rt. Hon Ben Kalu has demonstrated capacity to build Abia youths for the future.
” The Hon Deputy Speaker by this selfless action is not only empowering Abia youths, he is preparing them for future national leadership ‘, he said.
Nto pointed out that the hallmark of a successful leader is the ability to build successors, stressing that Kalu has continued to demonstrate leadership in all his actions, not just as a politician but bridge builder.
The former Commissioner praised Ben Kalu for being objective and broad minded in the selection of qualified Abians to occupy sensitive national positions.
He described Barr Chima Ogbonnaya, the new South East Zonal Youth Leader of APC as a cerebral, focused and energetic youth who will add value to the office.
Nto , a former Provost of Abia State College of Education, Technical, Arochukwu vouched for the capacity of Ogbonnaya to deliver on his mandate.
According to him, ” he has worked with me as my PA during my time as Commissioner and Provost and Chairman of Youth Movement of Nigeria and he was never found wanting.
He said Barr Chima Ogbonnaya as the Chairman of Old Bende Young Professionals has advocated for good and accountable governance in Nigeria as well as youth inclusiveness.
