Stakeholders and the people of Zone 3, Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State have resolved with overwhelming sense of unity and purpose expressed their collective determination to support the Dr Alex Otti led administration for a prosperous future for Umunneochi and Abia State.
Speaking over the weekend during a crucial meeting of stakeholders in the Zone and political leaders from across Umunneochi Local Government Area at the residence of Comrade Obiorah Nduka in Eziama Nneato, participants stressed the need to ensure the fostering of grassroots engagement, cohesion, and strengthening support for Governor Otti.
Addressing the gathering, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu called for the sustenance of unity and peace in Umunneochi, describing the council area as strategically significant in the development of the State.
Dr. Chukwu further reiterated the importance of supporting the people-focused initiatives of Governor Otti, emphasizing that collective support would ensure continued progress and development.
“Since 1999, no other government has been so good to Umunneochi than this government.
“Unity is the only way we can continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy. We must continue supporting the good works of Governor Alex Otti,” the Due Process Boss opined.
Contributing, Hon Chaka Chukwumerije, Commissioner for Lands and Housing, who addressed issues related to the cattle market, noted the importance of inclusive governance and thanked the Governor for appointing indigenes of the area into positions of trust.
“Government is about representation. When we are united, we can carry everyone along,” Chukwumerije pointed out.
In her remarks, a Commissioner in the Abia State House of Assembly Service Commission, Lady Grace Ibeh advocated for consistent engagement between leaders and the people, noting that the Dr Otti administration has opened doors for inclusive governance and representation through such dialogue.
In a remarkable show of unity and dedication to Governor Otti’s vision, the Mayor Umunneochi LGA, Chief Sunny Afurobi, canvassed for grassroots support for the Governor who has also brought security back to Umunneochi.
The colorful occasion which attracted the presence of several prominent figures from Nneato Zone 3, including , the member representing Umunneochi State constituency, Hon Mathias Umeh Nwachi, Mr. Dodo Okafor, SSA to the Governor on Public Communication, among others witnessed the formal defection of many notable politicians from their respective political parties to the Labour Party who were warmly received by Mayor Sunny Afurobi.
