Born into the God fearing, disciplined and humble family of Late Elder Lazarus Akabuike of Umuegwu Okpuala, Afugiri, Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria, over sixty (65) years ago, Sir Lucky Akabuike could be described as roundly blessed,gifted and lucky.
A quintessential leadership exponential and a rounded apostle of the duck and hen leadership styles, High Chief Akabuike,has , over decades, demonstrated the efficacy of intentional leadership dynamics and trajectory.
Most Ndi Ohuhu, landlords of Umuahia North, are comfortable and in agreement with the ubiquitous leadership exploits of Comrade Lucky Akabuike from his primary school days at Amuzukwu, Ibeku, making him the darling of our Ibeku brothers, to Ohuhu Community Secondary School, Amaogwugwu, the first secondary school jointly built by Ndi Ohuhu Gburugburu, conferring on him the enviable status of a home boy or Nwafo, an Alumni of Enugu State University of Science and Tech and to the Institute of Public Administration, Ghana, projecting his international status.
The widely travelled Leader, Sir Lucky Akabuike who has been to Ghana, Benin Republic,Togo, South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Egypt, Israel, France, Switzerland, Italy, China, Dubai, Germany, Netherlands, among other countries, is the current Chairman, Umuahia Chapter, Methodist Council of Knights encompassing the five Dioceses in Umuahia Arch Diocese.
As past Presidents of the Rotaract Club in the 1980s and Rotary Club of Umuahia, Comrade Lucky Akabuike who is reserved to some admirers is humble, disciplined and gregarious to many is also a Jerusalem Pilgrim and Justice of Peace.
Among numerous public and private exalted positions successfully occupied by the veritable Leader are two terms Chairman, Nigeria Labor Congress (NLC ), Abia State, having defeated an incumbent to emerge victorious and returned unopposed at the second term bid. He also occupied National Vice President, Nigeria Civil Service Union, 4th time Member, Nigeria Delegations to International Labor Organization (ILO), Geneva and Nigeria Economic Delegation to China, Special Adviser to two different Governors, Transition Chairman, Umuahia North Local Government Area and currently the Special Adviser to the Pro Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike (MOUAU).
Lucky is a recipient of numerous awards, honors, and Chieftaincy titles, High Chief Akabuike is a veritable and loving father of three God fearing and successful children.
This indefatigable Leader per excellence and by God’s grace the expected in coming President General, Sir Lucky Akabuike, is a community leader of repute having distinguished himself as President General of Umuegwu Okpuala Afugiri for nine (9) years, President General of Afugiri Federated Union for five (5) years, current Director of Administration, Egwu Ukwu Palace, Egwu Ukwu Afugiri Autonomous Community, Chairman, 2008 Iriji Ohuhu, Member, Caretaker Committee that elected Barrister Johnson Kanu’s Executive Officers among other sterling leadership positions that have culminated to the development, progress, unity and love in Umuegwu Okpuala Afugiri, Ohuhu, Umuahia North, Abia State and Nigeria as a whole.
No wonder, in 2021Ohuhu Welfare Union World Wide under the Leadership of Sir Obinna Aguocha presented him with a distinguished Award for excellence in Community Service.
A vote for Comrade Sir Lucky Akabuike,is a solid and justifiable vote for excellence, service delivery, competence, experience, progress, development, peace, unity , intentional leadership and victory for Ndi Ohuhu Gburugburu and their favoured in coming President General, Ohuhu Welfare Union, World Wide.
