Ahead of the February 6, 2027 gubernatorial election, the Nsulu Stakeholders Forum (NSF) of the Labour Party (LP), under its apex leader and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, has restrategised to achieve an overwhelming victory for Governor Alex Otti with the unveiling of 24 members to serve in three strategic committees, including Empowerment, Voter Education/Sensitisation and Mobilisation, as well as additional Security and Mobilisation committees.
The 11 members of the Empowerment Committee are Prof. Nwanjoku Anthony, Hon. (Mrs.) Chinyere Bridget Obediah, Dr. Sylvester C. Offor, FCA; Clement Ugorji, Dr. Shepherd Ebere, High Chief Emmanuel E. Emeh, Pastor Nnamdi Aliche, Ugochukwu Ajagha, Esq.; Mr. Collins C. Onyenma, and Nze (Dr.) Udo Orji.
For Voter Education, the following seven persons were endorsed as members: Prof. Alozie George Chinedu, Comrade Emeka Okechukwu, Sir Andrew Obinna Ijeri, Esq., Ubah Ocho, Esq., Dr. Charles Ogugbuaja, Chief Blaise Ndubuisi, and Dr. Charles Chigbu.
The Mobilisation Committee, headed by Elder GOC Nnaji has six other members including: Hon. Nwaogbe Chisomeje Princewill, Hon. Onyenowe Chamberlain, Comrade Ugoala Chidi C., Chief Godwin Ibendiogwu, Comrade Njoku C. Charles, and Pastor Isaac Nwosu.
The group further rolled out a three-month agenda, commencing from September to November, to support the target of Governor Otti’s re-election.
Addressing the stakeholders during a strategic virtual meeting over the weekend, the apex leader of NSF-LP and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, urged the 69-member body to remain united and focused as they work assiduously in their various wards and polling units, within the confines of the electoral laws, to deliver Governor Alex Otti in the governorship election.
Pastor Ajagba said the stage was critical for the re-election of Governor Otti, noting that information from all nooks and crannies of the state indicated that the Governor would be returned overwhelmingly, given his transformational developments in the state.
He, however, tasked the forum to ensure that all the candidates of the party in the state also received the electorate’s support and were delivered accordingly.
The Chief of Staff further charged the stakeholders to get ready to defend their polling units, saying, “As stakeholders, you are the leaders in your locality. You must defend your ward, polling units, work with other members of the party and the electorates, call meetings and contacts regularly, and maintain a harmonious@ relationship.”
He enjoined them to be law-abiding, peaceful and observant as they mobilise more support in the clan, adding that all the stakeholders must work compatibly with other pro-LP groups with strong structures for Governor Otti, such as Abia Arise and other growing pro-groups.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Nsulu Stakeholders Forum-Labour Party (NSF-LP), Dr. Chris Ugwumadu, appealed to the stakeholders to work to justify the confidence reposed in them as leaders in their areas, adding that their opponents should not constitute a threat.
Contributing, an advocate of good governance, Dr. Charles Ogugbuaja, noted that the Labour Party was well organised and ready for the 2027 general elections, maintaining that Governor Alex Otti was gradually leading the party to victory. He appreciated the NSF apex leader and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, for organising the Nsulu bloc.
“It is his area. His address to the Nsulu stakeholders of the party was very grounded and resounding. Kudos to this intelligent man of our time.
“His Excellency really made a good choice in appointing him, his Chief of Staff, a powerful position that requires a man with necessary proclivities,” Dr. Ogugbuaja stated.
Dr. Ogugbuaja commended Governor Otti for remaining focused in his transformational leadership in Abia, not minding what he described as his insignificant detractors and opponents in the state, and stressed the need to increase the tempo of marketing the candidacy of Governor Alex Otti.
“We must increase the tempo of marketing our saleable, and unblemished product/principal, sending the message of His Excellency’s organic accomplishments in 39 months and 26 days in office, to the ears of the amiable and willing electorate in Abia State.
“Among the litany of projects he has executed, let us remember the recently delivered gigantic world-class Prof. Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal, Umuahia; the ongoing Aba Bus Terminal (to be inaugurated in December 2026); the acquisition of 40 electric eco-friendly commercial air-conditioned buses (more 60 expected to arrive before the end of the year. Already, over 400,000 commuters have patronised them at intra- and inter-state levels);
“The ongoing Abia Airport project in Nsulu, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area; the training of over 3,000 youths on digital and leadership skills (at TechRise and Abia State Leadership Academy); the payment of accumulated gratuities to our retirees, and regular payment of pensions and Abia workers at least by the 28th of every month, among numerous others.
“He has also executed not less than 490 roads, measuring about 1,000 kilometres, across the state,” Dr. Ogugbuaja noted.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the NSF of the LP, Dr. Chris Ugwumadu, flanked by the Secretary, Dr. Chibuzo Emereuwa, while other stakeholders made their inputs.
