Minor Cabinet reshuffle takes place in Abia

Following the successful screening of two Commissioner nominees and a special Adviser, Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti has carried out a minor cabinet reshuffle.

Announcing the changes, Governor Otti disclosed that the Mrs Salome Obiukwu is now in charge of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce, while Chiemela Uzoije who heads the new Ministry of Housing that was merged with lands.

To this end, Chaka Chukwumerije will be in charge of the Ministry of Lands while Kingsley Nwokocha was moved from Trade and Commerce to Ministry of Labour and Productivity.

In the new arrangement, Christian Enweremadu is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture.

Addressing the new appointees, Governor Otti enjoined them to serve diligently, warning that his administration will not tolerate any form of corruption.

“Our administration has zero tolerance for corruption. We shall not hesitate to do what has to be done whenever credible evidence of compromise and bad behavior is presented to us”

He further challenged them to see their appointments as call to serve, not an invitation to jamboree.

Responding to Governor Otti’s charge, the new Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mrs Salome Obiukwu who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, promised to serve with dedication.
