At a period many Parents and Guardians are seeking all forms of connections to secure admission for their children/Wards to study professional courses in public tertiary institutions in Nigeria that always set high cut-off marks for admission, a youngman is about losing his opportunity to become a medical Doctor because of his inability to pay his school fees.
Mr Nwoke Ejikeme Noble of Umuesirike Umuham Amaohuru Nguru, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of imo State, a fourth year medical student of Abia state University was forced out of school in 2020 as result of his inability to pay school fees amounting to about N1.5 million.
Narrating his ordeal to Hanto Daily News at a religious circle in Mbaise where went to seek assistance to rescue the situation, Mr Nwoke, a former staff of PZ that was retrenched years back disclosed that he is an orphan, having lost his mother years before losing his father in his first year as a medical student.
The frustrated student revealed that he has sought all kinds of financial assistance from different sources and personalities including some political office holders to no avail, adding that a promise, made by a well to do individual led him to seek for fresh permissions from the Abia State University Senate to restart his programme which was graciously approved in September, 2024.
He however regretted that this promise could not be fulfilled as the person later declined to carry the burden alone, leading to his latest apprehension that has seen him traverse places searching for intervention.
While intermittently forcing himself to hold back tears , Mr Nwoke pointed out that if he fails to take this new opportunity, he may never be granted the chance to complete his course of study in rhe same school.
Nwoke Noble who was stepped down to recommence from third year, having stayed away for sometime, therefore appealed to government at all levels, Public spirited office holders and individuals to come to his rescue in order to fulfill his life ambition.
On the next line of action he will take the confused undergraduate who was desperately pacing while telling his story said he does not know what his situation will be but suddenly stood motionless and shouted ” God has never disappointed those who trust in him”.
