LP crisis : You are the one impersonating – Igara replies Otti

As the battle for the soul of the Labour Party, LP, gets hotter, the embattled Vice Chairman, South East zone, and immediate past Abia State Chairman of the party, Mr Ceekay Igara has described as unfounded and false the allegations of extortion and impersonation leveled against him by the Hon Emmanuel Nweze Otti led Abia State Working, SWC of the party.

Mr Igara while reacting during an interview programme with ABN TV this Monday following his arrest last weekend by officials of Abia State police command, made it clear that he did nothing wrong as alleged by his detractors.

The former Chairman of LP in Abia state pointed out that he was only carrying out an assignment given to him by the national leadership of the Party, arguing that the allegations of impersonation, fraud, and obtaining by false pretense against were baseless.

He rather noted that it was the acting Chairman of LP in Abia, Emmanuel Otti of impersonation, since his leadership has been dissolved by the national leadership of LP and cannot remain or be addressed as the acting chairman in the state.

The LP Vice Chairman, South East Zone, sounded it loud and clear that Otti does not stand on the authority of national leadership and lacks legitimacy now.

He however commended the police team who interrogated him for being professional and courteous.

The crisis in LP Abia has reached a new height following the scheduling of the Abia State Local Government elections and the recognition of Julius Abure as the national chairman of the party, in whose faction Igara belongs to, a situation that has affected the powers of the Peter Obi/ Alex Otti/ Nenadi Sambo faction to present candidates for elections.
