As the World Day of Elimination of Violence against Women is marked, the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation, OACF, has called on all to challenge harmful norms, listen to survivors, strengthen systems that protect women and create environments where women are respected, valued, and free from harm.
OACF, in a release to mark the Day, noted that the celebration reminds society that ending violence is a shared responsibility, pointing out that change begins when people choose courage over silence and action over indifference.
The philanthropic Organization therefore enjoined all to continue to raise their voices, support survivors with compassion, and commit to a world where every woman can live with dignity, hope, and safety.
“Today, we stand in solidarity with women and girls everywhere who have endured violence, fear, or silence. Every act of violence steals dignity, limits potential, and weakens the heart of our communities and no woman should ever have to fight for the right to feel safe, not at home, not at work, not anywhere.
“This day is a reminder that ending violence is a shared responsibility. We must challenge harmful norms, listen to survivors, strengthen systems that protect women and create environments where women are respected, valued, and free from harm. Change begins when we choose courage over silence and action over indifference.
“Let us continue to raise our voices, support survivors with compassion, and commit to a world where every woman can live with dignity, hope, and safety.
“Violence is never acceptable and ending it begins with all of us,” the statement concluded.
