Killings : Protesters take over Jos streets

The persistent killing of citizens of Plateau state allegedly perpetrated by suspected Fulani militants.this Monday morning sparked protests as Residents have taken to the streets of Jos, in a mass protest.

The protest led by Christian leaders, including the Plateau State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Polycarp Lubo saw demonstrators gathering early in the day at Fwavwei Junction, obstructing traffic and leaving scores of commuters stranded.

In the past weeks, over 100 people have reportedly been killed in Bokkos and Bassa local government areas.

One of the protesters Gyang Dalyop, bitterly noted “We are not happy over the continuous attacks and killings by gunmen in our communities. That’s why we have come out again to protest these happenings,”

Baring her mind, another Protester, Hannatu Philip, urged authorities to take swift action to avoid further genocidal activities against Plateau indigenes living in their fatherland.
