Baring any last minute intervention, the Abia State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, will begin an indefinite industrial action on Friday, 1 November, 2024 to press home their demands bothering on their welfare.
According to reports, the body is said to be dissatisfied with some issues regarding their welfare including the new minimum wage.
Hanto Daily News gathered that the decision to commence the strike action followed the approval granted by the National Headquarters of the Union for the Abia chapter to lock the Courts as the last resort to having their requests addressed.
A release endorsed by the Acting National secretary of JUSUN, M. J. Akwashiki, however, makes it clear that the industrial action cannot be suspended without the approval of the National Secretariat.
According to the release the approval of the strike is a sequel to the communique issued by the body on 25 October, 2024.
