Just a few weeks after recruiting 5394 Teachers, Abia Govt announces plans to bring in more 4000

Despite the recent recruitment of five thousand ,three hundred and ninety-four (5394) Teachers by the Abia State government, the Governor Dr Alex Otti has announced that another four thousand (4000) will soon be recruited into the system.

Governor Otti who was speaking during his monthly media parley with Journalists tagged; “Governor Otti Speaks to Abians,” said the decision is to close the critical manpower gaps in the Education sector.

He noted with delight that the recently employed Teachers are currently undergoing orientation, adding that they will soon be deployed to various schools where their services are needed.

“We cannot speak of development without a functional education system,” Governor Otti emphasized.

On the decay in public libraries in the state, the Governor announced plans to revive the Abia State Library System, as well as the establishment of modern libraries in all 17 Local Government Areas.

To achieve the desired objective, Governor Otti made public that a Library Board will be constituted to drive the vision.

Dwelling on the issue of insecurity, he made it clear that the government is aware of security breaches around Umunneochi and some parts of Isuikwuato Local Government Areas and has reactivated responsive security measures to stop the in the bud the ugly development.

The Governor vowed not to allow acts of criminality in any part of the state as his administration still has zero tolerance for fraud, bank robbery, kidnapping and any other sort of crime.

He cited an example where a Commissioner in the state was attacked by unknown gun men along the stretch of Umunneochi road and vowed to keep prioritizing the security of lives and properties.
