As a way of acknowledging their own who has excelled to the benefit of his people, the National Executive Council of Ikwuano Development Union – Federated (IDU-F), comprising the entire sons and daughters of Ikwuano both at home and in the diaspora, has congratulated their
illustrious brother, and President, GLOBE Legislators, Rt. Hon. Sir Sam Onuigbo, (Odozi Obodo Gburugburu) on his birthday.
IDU-F in a birthday message endorsed by the President-General, Chief Sam Eke, titled “Happy Birthday to a Distinguished Gentleman, an Icon of Legislative Excellence,” the body described Rt Hon Onuigbo as a cerebral, dignified, honourable, and dedicated man, a true pride of Ikwuano land and a global statesman.
The body noted that Rt Hon Onuigbo, a two term member of the House of Representatives and the current President, GLOBE Legislators is a man of humility, intellect, and integrity that has made Ikwuano proud and placed them on the global map.
“Sir, today we do not just celebrate your birthday, we celebrate your doggedness, resilience, wisdom, and uncommon commitment to service. You continue to demonstrate the relevance of intellect, the worth of knowledge, and the distinction of excellence in all you do.
“From the Embassy of the United States to the National Assembly as a Special Adviser to Abia State Government as Commissioner to two-time Member of the House of Representatives, and now as President of GLOBE Legislators, a network of parliamentarians in over 99 countries of the world, you have distinguished yourself as a legislative colossus. Your voice on climate change and sustainability through the Climate Change Act which you sponsored as well as your global engagements on climate actions, remains a historic legacy for Nigeria, Africa, and the world.
“You are a man of humility, intellect, and integrity. You have made Ikwuano proud and placed us on the global map,” IDU-F observed.
The Union, therefore, prayed God to grant him many more years in good health, renewing his strength like the eagle’s, as well as endowing him with more wisdom to continue to champion causes that uplift humanity and our dear Ikwuano.
