The Senior Special Assistant to the Abia Governor on Due Process Dr Oluebube Chukwu says the Commitment by Governor Alex Otti to boost Power Supply in Abia is a game-changer for industrialization and economic growth in the state.
Speaking in his office after Governor Otti’s recent meeting with a delegation from the European Union at the Aba Integrated Power Project (Geometric), Dr Chukwu who is also the Head of the Procurement Bureau, noted with delight the governor’s bold steps in negotiating key energy deals, including discussions with Professor Barth Nnaji on selling excess power to Umuahia.
According to him, the present administration’s strategic push to enhance power generation and distribution would provide businesses and households with reliable electricity, thereby fostering economic development.
He appreciated Dr Otti for his ability to engage stakeholders at the highest levels, pointing out that the step has led to significant progress in addressing the state’s energy challenges.
The Due Process Boss further commended the governor’s dedication to ensuring a stable electricity supply in Abia State and stressed the need to maintain the initiative.
He noted that the administration’s strategic push to enhance power generation and distribution would provide businesses and households with reliable electricity, thereby fostering economic development.
Governor Otti, during his visit to the Aba Integrated Power Project, had reiterated his commitment to industrialization through a steady power supply and commended the progress made by the company, particularly in the establishment of substations in parts of Aba, despite existing challenges.
During the visit, the European Union delegation, led by Massimo De Luca, Head of Cooperation, acknowledged the progress made in power generation and revealed that the EU is keen on exploring areas of partnership that will further enhance energy supply in Abia State.
