Reports say Gunmen in the early hours of this Tuesday morning (2/12/25) attacked an advance team from the Office of the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti; along the Umuowa–Ihite axis of Ngor Okpala LGA of Imo State.
Confirming the incident, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ukoha Njoku Ukoha, explained that the three-member team was travelling to the Sam Mbakwe Airport when unidentified gunmen attacked their vehicle shortly before the Airport junction.
Ukoha, in a statement, however, debunked the rumours already making the rounds that Governor Otti’s convoy was attacked as the convoy was not part of the movement at the time of the incident.
He further disclosed that no lives were lost.
