Fubara fails to arrive government house 24 hours after suspension of emergency rule

Suspense could best describe the situation surrounding the return of Governor siminalayi Fubara as a large crowd of Rivers State residents, who had gathered earlier in anticipation of his arrival to resume duty following the end of emergency rule in the state, left for their homes after waiting in vain.

The crowd that dispersed after hours of waiting without their Governor started gathering earlier in their thousands expecting the Governor to address them or make a public appearance.

Hanto Daily News reports that at 5:00 p.m. there was no sign of the Governor’s presence anywhere in the garden city.and no official statement has been issued.

The Governor and his deputy, Ngozi Odu are expected to take over the leadership of the state today, six months after President Bola Tinubu imposed emergency rule on the state.

Already, discussions and opinions are currently being formed by analysts and Indigenes on the development with suspicion high among them.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State House of Assembly formally resumed this Thursday as expected.

Recall, on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu announced the suspension of emergency rule which began in March, with Governor Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu expected to take over the leadership of the state this Thursday 18/9/25.
