The registration for the 9th edition of the
Rt. Hon. Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly Grassroots Boxing Talent Hunt 2026 will come to a close on the 15th of May 2026.
A release by the Action Committee on sports literacy says the registration exercise is currently going on in all the 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State.
According to the release those selected during the exercise will participate in the forthcoming ‘Jabs of the lions – South East Professional Boxing Championship’ sanctioned by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control and the National sports festival, Powered by The Presidency, National Sports Commission, Abuja.
The promoter of the programmes, Ikeuj Enterprise Ltd / Ikeuj Boxing Promotions says host for the Grassroots boxing talents hunt is Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State.
Hanto Daily News reports that the talent hunt boxing programme has been a source of youth Empowerment by the Government of Enugu State through the Speaker Enugu State House of Assembly /ALGON Enugu State Chapter and seen the discovery of boxers that have participated beyond the state.
