After much long wait, President Bola Tinubu on Saturday sent a 32-person Ambassadorial nominees’ list to the Senate for confirmation with former Governors Okezie Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as well as the immediate past INEC Chairman Mahmud Yakubu making the list.
Also prominent among the list contained in a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga include former presidential aide, Reno Omokri; ex-minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and a former deputy Governor of Lagos state Otunba Femi Pedro.

A breakdown of the list indicates that 15 nominees are career ambassadors and 17 nominees are non-career ambassadors while ten women made the list with four as career ambassadors and six non-career ambassadors.
According to the statement, the nominees will be assigned to nations Nigeria has relationships with and other international bodies like the United Nations.
