Abia PDP celebrates appointment of APC Chieftain as FCC Commissioner

In what appears to be an unusual coalition among opposition political parties the Abia State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has risen to celebrate the appointment of a former Commissioner for Finance, in the state, Mr. Obinna Oriaku by President Bola Tinubu as the Commissioner representing Abia in the Federal Character Commission, FCC.

The PDP in a statement by the State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abraham Amah congratulated Oriaku on his appointment, describing it as “well merited”.

“Although Chief Oriaku is not a member of our party, we recognize and celebrate merit wherever it is found.

” Over the years, he has demonstrated admirable integrity, competence and unwavering commitment to public service”, the statement reads.

Chief Oriaku’s appointment is contained in a statement on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

Hanto Daily News reports that Chief Obinna Oriaku known by his admirers as Ekwedike has been a vocal critic of the Dr Alex Otti administration, faulting its financial policies and accusing it of dishonesty, deceit and lacking in transparency.

However, Abia state government has repeatedly urged Abia residents to ignore Oriaku’s regular articles in the media, arguing that the past administrations the former Finance Commissioner served underdeveloped Abia.
