Tragedy struck today during this Saturday’s Local Government Election at Ohokobe Mbaocha in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State when a 70 – year – old man identified as Chief Nwokocha Irobunda allegedly gunned down a 40 – year man identified as Mr Bright.
An eyewitness account revealed that the incident occurred when the late Bright from Ohuhu in the same Local Government whose maternal home is Ohokobe, had an altercation with the said Chief Nwokocha Irobunda in the election reported to be largely peaceful in the State.
The source disclosed that the alleged killer ran to his house, picked up his gun and shot the young Bright who is said to be a party agent in the election.
The incident was said to have resulted in the youths of Ohokobe Mbaocha beating up the alleged killer and trying to destroy his house before the intervention of security agents, who pleaded with the angry youths.
Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested by the Police.
