Abia Gov announces more measures to uplift Abia Judiciary

As part of his determination to positively change the face of infrastructural development in his State, Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has officially commissioned the newly constructed ultra modern Umuene Court Complex, Isialangwa South Local Government Area.

The facility is one of the 17 modern judicial facilities being built by his administration across the 17 Local Government Areas of the State in line with his desire to provide conducive atmosphere for the Judiciary to deliver the expected services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Otti noted that the commissioning marks his administration’s commitment to strengthening the judicial system by ensuring access to justice in fulfilment of his campaign promises.

While stressing the critical role of the judiciary play in ensuring justice and social order, Governor Otti stated that his administration’s investment in modern, functional court buildings was anchored on the conviction that there can be no real development without unfettered access to justice for every member of society.

He announced plans for the commencement of the construction of multi-functional, ultra-modern judicial complexes across the State, which will feature 15 standard courtrooms, registrar’s offices, chambers for the Chief Judge, conference centres, and a 1,000-seater multipurpose hall.

The Governor there charged Judicial Officers to remain impartial in the discharge of their duties and warned against compromise and corruption.

Presenting her speech, the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Lilian Abai described the project as a symbol of justice and hope, adding that the new court complex would strengthen justice delivery and speed up judicial processes in the State.

In his remarks,The Attorney General and Commissioner Justice , Mr Ikechukwu Uwanna noted that Abia under Governor Alex Otti is building not just a physical structure but enduring institutions , disclosing that the new court building has digital connectivity, independent power systems ,water supply facilities, standard IT tools, and facility maintenance among others.
