“She was more than a journalist; she was a sister, a friend, a pioneer, and a fearless voice of truth in our land. I remember her vividly under the military era as the first female journalist to interview me, my late father, and Nze B.O. Asonye (now HRH) during my free medical outreach at Amapu Ntigha.
“She carried herself with grace, confidence, and a burning passion for stories that mattered.
“Our paths crossed again when I later served as a board member at the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia (BCA) in 1999, where she had already distinguished herself as a remarkable Igbo newscaster.
“Her voice was not just heard, it resonated, giving hope, strength, and pride to Abians,”the TNP Convenor pointed out.
He further described Ozioma’s life as a beacon of courage, especially for young women who saw in her the proof that they, too, could excel in a male-dominated profession.
According to him, “she was both a friend and a reminder that the right questions, asked at the right time, can touch lives and create lasting memories.
“She left too soon, but her voice still echoes. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she informed, inspired, and uplifted,” he emphasized.
While praying for the repose of her soul, Ochiagha Ufomba condoled with her family and prayed God to console and strengthen them,
