APC: Dalori takes over as Ganduje resigns

Following the sudden resignation of the National chairman of the All progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, a Deputy National Chairman (North) of the party, Ali Bukar Dalori, has replaced him.

APC spokesman Felix Morka in a statement said “His resignation, which is effective immediately, was offered to enable him attend to urgent and important personal matters.”

According to Morka, President Tinubu directed Dalori to assume the position of Acting National Chairman, pending the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to be summoned immediately to fill the vacancy created by the resignation.

Ganduje, from the North-West zone whose leadership has faced opposition from Stakeholders from North Central zone assumed leadership of the party in August 2023, following the resignation of his predecessor, Abdullahi Adamu, from the North Central zone.

There are also reports that the rumoured move by President Tinubu to bring Ganduje’s Arch rival, Rabiu Kwakwanso back to the party May be responsible for the current development.
