Strategic Mobilization Network For Tinubu Continuity 2027 Mobilizes Abia Rainbow Coalition For Tinubu’s Re-election

The effort to mobilize support for the second term of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has yielded another boost in Abia as the much talked about rainbow coalition came alive in Umuahia on Monday 2/11/26.

The ceremony which took place at the Umuahia residence of the President GLOBE Legislators and Patron, Strategic Mobilization Network For Tinubu Continuity 2027, Chief Sam Onuigbo, was an interactive session that attracted notable stakeholders, comprising members different political parties, women Leaders, Physically challenged and Students bodies.

Addressing the strategic meeting, under the auspices of Strategic Mobilization Network For Tinubu Continuity 2027, Chief Onuigbo, a two term member of the House of Representatives, described the forum as a gathering of people who share a common belief in the future of Nigeria and a common commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We are here because we believe that Nigeria must not abandon the strong, visible and encouraging progress it has started making in critical aspects of national growth.

We believe that the reforms initiated by President Tinubu must be sustained, the foundations already laid must be strengthened, and the unfinished work must be completed. That is the reason for establishing the Strategic Mobilisation Network for Tinubu Continuity 2027 (SMN TC2027),” Onuigbo pointed out.

While stressing that there are glaring reasons why Nigerians should give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu another four years, the GLOBE Legislators President made it clear that the present administration has boldly faced and addressed economic challenges through invocation of policies that have positively affected the socio-economic lives of the people.

He said: “When President Tinubu assumed office on May 29, 2023, Nigeria was facing serious economic challenges. The country was struggling with rising inflation, dwindling government revenue, foreign exchange difficulties, an unsustainable fuel subsidy system and growing debt obligations.

“In May 2023, Nigeria’s headline inflation stood at 22.41 per cent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics. Government revenue was under pressure as the preceding administration had accumulated N27 Trillion Ways and Means, the foreign exchange market was distorted as only those with access benefitted, and the country was spending enormous resources maintaining an economic arrangement that had become increasingly difficult to sustain.

“The President had to make difficult decisions, and he made them. The removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market were among the first major decisions of his administration.

Today, we can point to some measurable improvements. As of September 2026, headline inflation which at some point hit 36.4% had declined to 14.63 per cent. It is important to understand what these figures mean. A decline in inflation does not mean that the prices of food and other goods have returned to what they were in 2023.

” It means that the rate at which prices are increasing has slowed. For the ordinary Nigerian, that improvement must eventually translate into greater purchasing power and a more affordable cost of living. That is the work that must continue.”

Going further, Rt Hon Onuigbo expressed delight that in 2025, Nigeria’s economy grew by 3.87 per cent, compared with 3.38 per cent in 2024 while in the second quarter of 2026, the economy recorded 4.43 per cent growth, improving on the 3.89 per cent recorded in the first quarter.

“Another important indicator is the country’s foreign reserves. Nigeria’s foreign reserves grew from $3.9Billion i 2023, and strengthened considerably in 2026, reaching approximately $55 billion in October, 2026, the highest in 18 years. This matters because foreign reserves help a country meet its international obligations, support confidence in its currency and provide a buffer against external economic shocks. It also sends a message to investors that Nigeria is working towards a more stable economic environment.

“Another area where we can see the importance of continuity is the petroleum sector. For decades, Nigeria exported crude oil and imported refined petroleum products despite having enormous oil resources. We spent scarce foreign exchange importing products that we had the capacity to produce locally.

There are two positive developments in the petroluem sector. First, our crude oil production grew from 1.3 million barrels per day (mbpd) in 2023 to 1.73 mbdp in 2026. Second, the emergence of the Dangote Refinery has changed the country’s domestic refining landscape. We have moved from 30,000 barrels per day in 2023 to refining 700,000 barrels per day in 2026. The stable growth in the refineries represents one of the most significant industrial investments in Nigeria’s history that is gaining positive global attention.

“This development creates opportunities to reduce dependence on imported petroleum products, conserve foreign exchange, create jobs and strengthen local industries. It also creates opportunities for Nigeria to become a major supplier of refined petroleum products to many African countries as well as other parts of the world,” he argued.

The former National Assembly member who perused through the achievements in different sectors of governance noted with delight the introduction of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, (NELFUND) which has brought financial relief to many parents and seamless academic environment to disadvantaged students of tertiary institutions, pointed out that the policy has already recorded over 1.64 million students beneficiaries.

“According to NELFUND’s published impact figures, more than 1.64 million students have received support, with over ₦372.62 billion disbursed in student loans. The programme has also partnered with more than 320 institutions,” the GLOBE President observed.

He also pointed at the level of infrastructural development as another important reason for the expected continuity of President Tinubu, adding that at the completion of the ongoing ones many aspects of the peoples’ lives will be improved.

While recognizing that the cost of food is still high, Chief Onuigbo made public that the present administration has also introduced various interventions aimed at improving agricultural production and supporting farmers.

On security, the APC Stalwart argued that the proposed State Police framework would help in the effort to bring policing closer to communities and tackle various challenges affecting security of lives and property.

” We are not saying that Nigeria has arrived at its destination. We are saying that important steps have been taken, major reforms have been initiated and investments have been made. There is still work to be done, and there are still challenges to address.

“But we believe that the right thing to do is to consolidate the progress, correct the weaknesses and complete the work already started. That is what continuity means to us. It is not simply about retaining political power. It is about sustaining good policies, improving implementation and ensuring that the benefits of government programmes reach ordinary Nigerians. And that is the message we must take into the 2027 election,” Onuigbo stated.

He therefore enjoined the stakeholders that cut across party lines to seriously mobilize the people for the re-election of Prisedent Tinubu who has done much so far.

“Our engagement must be practical. When we visit a market, we should be able to speak with traders about the economy, access to credit and government interventions that concern their businesses.

“When we engage students, we should be able to explain NELFUND and other opportunities available to them. When we engage community leaders, we should discuss infrastructure, security, agriculture and the development needs of their communities. We must understand that people are more interested in how government policies affect their lives than in political speeches. Our job is to connect the President’s policies and achievements to the everyday experiences of Nigerians,” he stressed.

Contributing, a member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees from Abia state and a former commissioner, Sir Tony Ezebuiro said he was at the meeting to throw the party’s weight behind the re-election of the president.

He described the coalition as a welcomed development, disclosing they have been instructed from the national Secretariat to work for Tinubu’s second term project.

Sir Ezebuiro therefore urged the gathering to go home and mobilize for the success of President Tinubu and stressed the need for all to make sure that Abia is counted amongst states that helped secure victory for the president.

Many other speakers including Stakeholders, Women Leaders, Students bodies, the physically challenged among others pledged to work for the victory of President Tinubu while calling on Abians to vote for him.
