Abia State Police Command has made series of breakthroughs in its efforts to crush criminal activities in the State.
Some of the feats recorded include: the bursting of stolen vehicles hideout in Isuochi, Umunneochi LGA, recovery of arms and motorcycles in Isiala Ngwa South LGA and the arrest of a suspected member of a violent criminal gang in Aba North LGA.
According to a release by the command endorsed by the spokesperson, DDP Maureen Chinaka, in the Isuochi discovery, two vehicles including One (1) white Dodge vehicle with Reg. No: LAGOS APP-909KF and One (1) red Toyota Camry with Reg. No: ENU-43AZ were recovered from the hideout.
The recovery made on Friday 25/09/2026, followed successful operation by operatives and investigation is ongoing, with intensified efforts aimed at apprehending members of the vehicle theft syndicate connected to the hideout.
The release therefore enjoins members of the public whose vehicles may have been stolen and fits the recovered vehicles description are advised to come to the Police Headquarters, Umuahia, with valid proof of ownership for identification and reclaim
On the recovery made of drugs, arms and motorcycles, the release stated that one Ebuka Nwakerindu, (Male), of Umuokoromiri Village, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Abia State was arrested with the following: One (1) locally made single-barrel long gun, One (1) 50kg bag containing substances suspected to be Cannabis Sativa and Three (3) motorcycles.
Concerning the violent criminal gang in Aba North, the command disclosed that one Ugochukwu Precious, Male, 28 years, of Umuohia, Ogbor Hill, Aba who obtained an iPhone 17 Pro Max under the guise of payment on delivery since April 2026, but failed to make payment but allegedly resorted to the use of thugs and threats against the seller, was apprehended with One pump-action shotgun.
It further pointed out that the arrest followed actionable intelligence by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Abia State Police Command, and the suspect has made confessional statements affirming the allegations.
