Onuigbo Flags Off Re-election Campaign For President Tinubu, Engages Stakeholders For Massive Victory

As part of efforts in making members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be united and work towards ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the January 2027 Presidential election, the President, Globe Legislators International, Rt. Hon. Sam I. Onuigbo, has engaged stakeholders and members to secure massive support for the realization of the goal.

Addressing a stakeholders’ engagement he convened for his Odozi Obodo Campaign Organization to formally thank them and flag off the campaign for President Tinubu’s second term at his Odozi Obodo Hills, Obuohia Obi-Ibere country home in Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State, Rt Hon Onuigbo urged all to shun sentiments and support the re-election of the President for the sake of consolidating on the many gains of the present administration.

The former lawmake who represented Ikwuano- Umuahia Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2019 urged APC stakeholders to intensify efforts towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to ensure the full realization of the Renewed Hope reforms.

“It is obvious that President Tinubu has done remarkably well in repositioning Nigeria in the global economy, even as the country is still ‘a work- in- progress’. Without doubt, the President deserves a second term to finish off the good job he has started.

“On my part, I am determined to continue projecting APC, preserving the ideals of good governance we cherish and the consolidation of Mr. President’s reforms,” he pointed out.

Speaking further, the former lawmaker, pointed out that the Tinubu led administration has brought about positive impacts including: increased FAAC allocations to all tiers of government, improved crude oil production and refining capacity.

Going further, he also expressed delight that the country is today witnessing rising foreign reserves, foreign investments, NELFUND funding, economic diversification as well as foreign exchange reforms that have made positive impacts on the economy.

“Federal Accounts Allocation Committee funds distributed to the three tiers increased from N711 billion in 2023 to BE.5 trillion in 2026. Today, Governors are getting about five times more from FAAC funds than they received during previous administrations.

“These huge fiscal inflows to the states account for the rapid development that is impacting almost every local government in Abia State and indeed, in all the states of the Federation,” the for Rep observed.

Rt Hon Onuigbo who is the sponsor of the Nigeria Climate Change Act further noted that the administration of president Tinubu has shown love to the South East zone through the functionalization of the South-East Development Commission, infrastructure projects, airport expansion, proposed Enugu-Port Harcourt rail line, federal roads reconstruction and the restoration of management courses at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike.

He, therefore, argued that President Tinubu deserved a second term to consolidate his achievements, and challenged party stakeholders to prioritise the President’s re-election over personal political ambitions.

The former National Assembly Member, however, thanked them for their support during his senatorial campaign and expressed confidence that better opportunities lay ahead for them and the APC.

” The stakes are higher now than when we joined the APC, especially because of the bold and courageous reforms the President has initiated under the aegis of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Mr President deserves the support of every genuine APC member, and indeed, every Nigerian. I dare say that it is our duty to keep supporting the President and work hard to ensure he wins the January 16, 2027 Presidential election for the fact that he needs to consolidate on the solid foundation already laid,” Onuigbo reminded them.

Responding, the Director General, Odozi Obodo Campaign Organization, Hon. Williams Ukattu who moved a motion for the adoption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their sole candidate in the 2027 Presidential election, a motion which was seconded by Lady Odochi Odor, made it clear that Rt. Hon. Onuigbo has always shown leadership in his dealings and public life.

While expressing regrets that Rt Hon Onuigbo was not given the party’s senatorial ticket for Abia Central, Hon. Ukattu, however, assured that they would rally round the President and ensure his return to office, in keeping with the appeal by Rt. Hon. Onuigbo.

In their speeches, some of the stakeholders including Mr Nwalaezeligwe Brown, Lady Odochi Odor and Pastor Henry Eze appreciated Rt. Hon. Onuigbo for deeming it fit to bring them together after the party primaries and described him as a true leader who is known for not abandoning but carrying his people along at all times and situation.

They therefore enjoined him not to be discouraged by the ugly displays by some party faithful during the primaries, expressing optimism of better days ahead.

In their contributions, Mrs Nnenna Aaron, Chief Augustine Iheanyi Anyaegbu and Hon. Mrs Ezenwanyi Emelogu stressed the need for the genuine and positive efforts of the President to be properly situated in the public domain to dispel the negative narratives being peddled by the opposition.

They, however, promised to strenghten and sustain their mobilization drive for the re-election of the president.
