Gov Fubara To Inaugurate Eleven Landmark Projects Across Rivers

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, will from Monday August 17 to August 28, inaugurate 11 major infrastructure projects across the state in his administration’s efforts to expand development and improve public services in communities.

Briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt on Friday, the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dr. Dagogo Wokoma, said the projects include roads, bridges, healthcare facilities, educational institutions and other critical public infrastructure spread across different local government areas of the state.

Dr Wokoma, described the projects as evidence of the administration’s commitment to grassroots development stressing that they are aimed at boosting economic growth and enhancing residents’ quality of life.

According to him, the commissioning exercise would commence on August 17 with the Buguma-Degema-Abonnema Road, a major link connecting communities in Asari-Toru, Degema and Akuku-Toru Local Government Areas.

According to the schedule, the Egwi-Afara-Mba Road in Etche Local Government Area will take its turn on August 18, while the Capt. Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Entrepreneurship Centre/Engineering Faculty Building in Rumuola, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, will hold on August 19.

He further made public that the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Dual Carriageway, which traverses Ikwerre, Emohua and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Areas, is scheduled for inauguration on August 20, while the New Zonal Hospital, Omoku, will be commissioned on August 21.

Following a two-day break on August 22 and 23, the commissioning exercise will resume on August 24 with the inauguration of the Omademe Internal Roads in Ikwerre Local Government Area.

On August 25, Governor Fubara will inaugurate the New Air Force Base Runway in Port Harcourt, while the Agba-Ndele Road and Bridge in Emohua Local Government Area will be commissioned on August 26.

Two major healthcare projects—the New Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital and the New General Hospital, both located in Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area—will be inaugurated on August 27.

The commissioning programme will conclude on August 28 with the inauguration of the Bonny National Grammar School in Bonny Local Government Area.

The SSG pointed out that the projects reflected Governor Fubara’s determination to ensure that government investments translated into visible improvements in the lives of Rivers people.

He noted that the administration remained focused on delivering meaningful development across the state’s 23 local government areas through strategic infrastructure investments.

Dr Wokoma also commended government officials, contractors, host communities and other stakeholders for their contributions to the successful execution of the projects.

He urged residents to participate in the commissioning ceremonies and continue supporting the Fubara administration in its drive to promote peace, sustainable development and shared prosperity across Rivers State.
