It was celebration galore as pupils and students from different schools in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State gathered in large numbers to mark the 2026 Children’s Day celebration with excitement, unity, and happiness.
Addressing the highly elated children at the event held in Nkwoagu the, Council Headquarters, the Executive Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, Chief Sunny Afurobi, congratulated all them for a successful Children’s Day celebration.
Chief Afurobi commended the schools, teachers, and parents for their commitment towards the growth and development of the children.
He reiterated the determination of his administration to encourage effective and quality teaching and learning in the area, describing youths as the future of society.
In appreciation of the outstanding performances displayed during the march pass, the Mayor announced assorted prizes for all participating schools ins the 2026 march pass competition as well as children and teachers who participated in the one hundred metres race and other sporting activities.
