Oluebube Chukwu celebrates new year with NULGE, lauds Governor Otti for priortizing workers’ welfare

In his customary manner of showing empathy and exhibiting philanthropy, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Abia State on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, has presented his yuletide gifts comprising cash and cow to workers of Umunneochi Local governments council.

Speaking while presenting the items during a New Year interaction with staff of the council held at the Umunneochi Local Government Council Headquarters, Dr Chukwu thanked for the opportunity of celebrating with the workers and called for unity, dedication, progress and good governance in the journey of building a prosperous Abia State.

He lauded the administration of Governor Alex Otti for its people-oriented reforms, as well as his integrity, visionary leadership and capacity to deliver on campaign promises.

While pointing out that the present administration has brought about visible transformation across the state, the Process Boss made it clear that no sector has been left untouched by the ongoing reforms.

Dr. Chukwu who particularly highlighted improvements in workers’ welfare, sounded it loud and clear that civil servants in Abia State now enjoy the prompt payment of salaries on or before the 28th of every month, alongside the implementation of the new minimum wage and pensions.

According to him, workers in the state have “never had it so good” in the history of Abia, attributing this to the governor’s commitment to accountability and transparency.

He also pledged to donate a vehicle to the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Umunneochi chapter, to support the union’s activities.

In their responses, the workers expressed gratitude to Dr. Chukwu for his generosity and continued support, describing his visit as morale-boosting and reassuring.

They renewed their commitment to support the policies and programmes of the Abia State Government and prayed for its success.

Among several workers at the meeting, those who received him on behalf of NULGE included the Chairman, Engr. Kingsley Ajala; Vice Chairman, Comrade Don Nwuju Chukwuma; Secretary, Comrade Nwigwe Sopuruchi; Treasurer, Comrade Uche Nkiru Mercy; Auditor, Comrade Nwafor Jude and Women Committee Chairperson, Comrade Uzor Esomchi.
