As the world marks the International Day for Older persons, the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation has stressed the need for their voices to be heard.
In a release to celebrate the day, the Foundation pointed out that considering their contributions to society, their stories deserve to be preserved with their well-being remaining a priority in building inclusive societies.
While arguing further that every older person deserves to age gracefully, with love and security, the Oluebube A. Chukwu Foundation described them as the custodians of history, storytellers of our past, and the guiding lights for the future.
“Their sacrifices and experiences are the foundation upon which our societies continue to grow and they remind us that age is not a limitation but a testament to strength, endurance, and grace,” the Foundation observed.
As we reflect on this day, let us recognize the importance of supporting older persons through love, care, and respect. Their voices deserve to be heard, their stories deserve to be preserved, and their well-being should remain a priority in building inclusive societies because, every older person deserves to age gracefully, with love and security.
The philanthropic body therefore prayed that this year’s International Day of Older Persons will inspire the people to appreciate the elders, listen to their wisdom, and give back the love they have poured into generations.
