People from all walks of life will gather at Isiochi Ugwu Leru, Umuchieze in Umunneochi L.G.A of Abia State to pay their last respects to Ichie Engineer Mathew Okoye whose remains will be to rest on Saturday ( 3/1/2026).
A funeral arrangement endorsed by Chief Okechukwu Okoye says there will be a service of songs on 2/1/26 at 4pm at his Isiochi Leru, Umuchieze residence while at 7pm same day, there will be wake keep at Ebekuo’s Lodge Ugwu Leru, Umuchieze.
According to the release, on 3/1/26 at 7am, his body leaves 82 Division military mortuary, Enugu for a reception at the palace of Eze Elewechukwu Ogoke, Leruoanya 1 of Leru, Umuchieze before lying in State in his family compound at 9am.
The release further states that there will be Funeral service at 10am at All saints Methodist Church Leru to be officiated by the Methodist Bishop of Ihube Diocese, thereafter interment at his residence.
On Sunday 4/6/26 there will be a Thanksgiving/ Outing service at All saints Methodist Church
Leru, Umuchieze.
Late Ichie Engineer Mathew Okoye who passed on at the age of 96 is survived by his Wives, Children , Grand-Children and a host of relatives.
