The Governor, Dr Alex Otti who broke the cheering news while speaking at the 13th Anniversary of the Episcopal Ordination of the Founder, Marian Missionary Sisters AD-Regnum Dei, Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, held at the Sanctuary of Mary Immaculate, Egbelu -Etiti Ntigha, Isialangwa North LGA, also announced that the road leading to the skills acquisition center established by the Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu at Owerrinta will also be handled.
Governor revealed that the two road projects are contained in the 2026 budget, made public that he would meet with management of NDDC on some lingering projects in the state.
The congratulated the Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu on the 13th Anniversary of Episcopal Ordination as Archbishop, describing the Archbishop Nwachukwu’s life journey as one full of compassion and service to God and humanity.
He also congratulated the three newly Ordained Sisters of the Catholic faith for their sacrifice in serving God and thanked the Church for their consistent prayers for his administration.
In a sermon during the event, the Founder of Marian Missionaries of Ad Regnum Dei(MMR), Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, noted that Christian life, particularly religious vocation, was a call to seek Christ wholeheartedly, abandon the old life and follow Him in total trust.
Archbishop Nwachukwu, who works in the Roman Curia as Secretary of the Dicastery for Evangelisation, urged believers to pursue Christ with openness to conversion and renewal, pointing out that religious life entails offering oneself fully to God through the vows of poverty, obedience and chastity, as well as embracing a transformed way of life.
Archbishop Nwachukwu said that while this calling could be considered humanly difficult, it could be made possible through God’s grace, as illustrated in Christ’s teaching on the rich young man and called for unity, gratitude, and service to God and humanity.
The Catholic Arch Bishop commended Governor Alex Otti for the numerous infrastructural developments across the state,citing Port Harcourt Road, Aba and Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard, Umuahia as an example of the transformational leadership of the present administration.
