Umunneochi Mayor tasks participants in State/ LG sponsored ICT Programme to be good Ambassadors

The Mayor, Umunneochi local government, Chief Sunny Afurobi, has charged about fifty Umunneochi Indigenes participating in the ongoing TechRise Cohort 2 training, to remain good Ambassadors of their families, their communities, and Umunneochi local government area.

Addressing them shortly after the launching of the Cohort 2 TechRise training programme in Aba, Chief Afurobi who recakked the rigorous tests they passed through before being selected, pointed out that it behoves them to further distinguish themselves during the three months training period.

The Mayor reminded them of the need to exhibit a high level of discipline in the training, the spirit of I can do it and to bear in mind that they expected to create employment opportunities for themselves and others after the training programme.

He appreciated Governor Alex Otti for being passionate about job creation for Abia Youths, as well as equipping them to excel in the digital economy, which gave rise to the Cohort 2 TechRise training exercise.

While disclosing that the programme is fully funded by the Abia State Government in conjunction with the 17 Local Government Councils made it clear that it will provide participants with advanced digital skills in areas such as; AI and Machine Learning, Product Management, UI and UX Design, 3D Animation and Games Development, Cyber Security, Data Engineering, and Full Stack Development, among others.

The Council Boss expressed confidence that Umunneochi participants will make the people proud at last and wished them a fruitful stay and assured them of regular visits while the programme lasts.
