Reports this Tuesday morning (26)8/25) say a passenger train travelling from Kaduna to Abuja derailed on its way to the FCT.
According to the report, the incident which occurred along the busy Kaduna–Abuja corridor saw some cabins overturned, resulting in passengers scrambling to safety.
Although details remain sketchy, it was not immediately confirmed whether any casualties were recorded.
The cause of the derailment is yet to be ascertained and there is no confirmation of any casualties as details are yet to be made public by authorities.
In the recent past the, Kaduna–Abuja railway, has faced multiple challenges including vandalism by criminally minded persons.
Meanwhile, military personnel have reportedly been deployed to the site to assist in evacuating stranded passengers.
