INEC Finally Uploads NDC’s New Modified Logo

Following a recent judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered by Justice J. O. Abdulmalik, which directed INEC to upload and use the modified logo adopted by the party, the electoral umpire has finally changed the logo displayed for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) on its official portal, with the commission now reflecting the party’s blue-background “Two Fingers Up” logo ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The NDC had taken legal action after efforts to resolve the disagreement between the NDC and INEC over the logo to be used by the party and its candidates could not be resolved administratively.

According to the NDC leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, the party gave INEC sufficient opportunity to resolve the matter but eventually approached the court after no corrective action was taken.

Senator Dickson welcomed the judgment, describing it as a vindication of the party’s position and commending the judiciary for intervening in the dispute.

“We therefore commend the judiciary for its timely intervention and welcome the judgment directing INEC to forthwith upload and utilise our modified digital logo,” he stated.

Recall, in September, as a result of the judgment, the NDC had directed its candidates, members and supporters to immediately adopt the modified logo after the court ordered INEC to upload and utilise the new design.

The party’s leader, Seriake Dickson, who announced the court decision in a statement posted on explained that the modified logo was approved at the party’s first National Executive Council meeting and subsequently submitted to INEC.

According to him, the commission initially uploaded the new design before removing it and reverting to the old logo under which the association was originally registered.
