As campaigns for the 2027 general elections gear up, a Labour Party Chieftain in Abia State, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, says that the party will sweep the poll across Abia North in the 2027 general elections.
Dr Chukwu, who is the Senior Special Assistant to Abia Governor on Due Process, pointed out that the landslide victory that would be recorded the Labour Party in Abia North would see all elective positions.
According him, the performance of the Alex Otti since assuming office had already made the task of mobilising voters for the Labour Party considerably easier.
He pointed out that Abians had seen enough of the government’s activities and would surely not be interested in what he described as “stories” during the 2027 campaigns.
Dr Chukwu made it clear that the people would support candidates contesting under the Labour Party platform because of the performance of the present government .
He expressed confidence that not even a single vote would be wasted in Abia North, insisting that the Labour Party would clear the entire senatorial district in the 2027 elections.
The LP Chieftain’s position comes amid intensified grassroots mobilisation by Labour Party stakeholders across Abia North.
Recall, Dr Chukwu has been actively involved in mobilisation efforts ahead of the elections, including a strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Umunneochi where he urged eligible residents to participate in voter registration as part of efforts to strengthen electoral participation and support for Governor Otti’s return in 2027.
In July, Chukwu was also prominent at a Labour Party mobilisation event in Umunneochi organised in support of the party’s Abia North Senatorial candidate, David Ogba Onuoha, popularly known as Bourdex.
Reflecting on the gathering, Chukwu said the reception demonstrated renewed confidence in the Labour Party and linked the enthusiasm among residents to what he described as the renewed hope inspired by the Otti administration.
He said the message to Labour Party supporters was to remain united, disciplined and focused on grassroots engagement as the 2027 elections approach.
Chukwu’s confidence also comes as Labour Party candidates and stakeholders intensify consultations across Abia North. In May, Abia North senatorial aspirant David Ogba Onuoha visited Chukwu in Umuahia shortly after obtaining his nomination and expression-of-interest forms, with both sides discussing the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
The Labour Party chieftain’s declaration that the party will take every available vote in Abia North represents his projection ahead of the 2027 polls, as political parties intensify their mobilisation and campaigns across the state.
