The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Alex Otti on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube A. Chukwu, says the emergence of a new development direction under Governor Alex Otti provides an opportunity for Abia to consolidate its potential and position itself for sustainable growth.
In a goodwill message to mark the 35th anniversary of the creation of Abia state, Dr Chukwu highlighted the administration’s emphasis on due process, transparency, accountability and institutional strengthening, stressing that effective governance must be built on systems capable of delivering lasting results beyond individual administrations.
According to him, the ongoing development efforts under the Otti administration demonstrated a determination to address critical infrastructure gaps, improve public services and create an environment where businesses can thrive and citizens can prosper.
“Abia at 35 must not only celebrate where we have come from; we must also ask ourselves where we are going.
“The responsibility before us is to build institutions, infrastructure and opportunities that will serve generations yet unborn. With the right leadership, adherence to due process and the collective commitment of our people, the Abia of our dreams is achievable,” Chukwu pointed out.
Dr Chukwu commended Governor Otti for what he described as a renewed focus on accountability and measurable results, expressing optimism that the administration’s policies and projects would continue to impact positively on the lives of residents.
He therefore enjoined the people to see the 35th anniversary of the creation of Abia State not only as a time to reflect on Abia’s journey since its creation on August 27, 1991, but also an opportunity to assess the progress being made and the future the people desire.
Dr Chukwu called on Abians to look beyond the celebration and embrace the responsibility of building a stronger and more prosperous state.
The Due Process Boss described Abians as resilient and enterprising, pointing out that their contributions in business, education, medicine, technology, agriculture, manufacturing and other sectors have given the state a strong identity.
The Senior Specially Assistant to the Governor urged Abians at home and in the diaspora to support initiatives capable of advancing the state, stressing that the government alone could not achieve sustainable development.
He also appealed to young Abians to see themselves as partners in the state’s transformation, encouraging them to develop their skills, embrace innovation and take advantage of emerging economic opportunities.
While soliciting peace, unity and responsible citizenship, Dr Chukwu congratulated Governor Alex Otti and all Abians on the anniversary, praying for continued peace, stability, progress and prosperity across the state.
“As we celebrate 35 years of Abia State, let us honour our past, appreciate our present and work together for the future. The task before us is bigger than any individual or political party. It is the task of building an Abia that our children and grandchildren will be proud to inherit,” the SSA concluded.
