The controversy surrounding the authenticity of Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council headed by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi on Wednesday took a shape that indicates that the accused is guilty.
Thus followed declaration by the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the alleged operation of the disputed Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council that the appointment letter received by Adeniyi Adeyemi, who identified himself as the Director-General, is fake.
Making the declaration during the continuation of the probe in Abuja, the Chairman of the committee, Yusuf Gagdi, explained that the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, who appeared for the second time on Wednesday, also admitted that the documents presented by Adeyemi were not authentic.
Hon Gagdi said, “It was established that the so-called letter of appointment was fake, confirmed by different agencies, and the Act presented to the Head of Service was equally fake, forged by the DG; it was established.”
The appearance of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation before the committee is in compliance with its summons following her earlier invitation for her final statements.
Meanwhile, Prince Adeyemi is yet to appear before the committee that had on Monday directed the Inspector-General of Police to produce Mr. Adeniyi Adeyemi within 48 hours.
